I am a Senior Research Scientist in Field Robotics at the Cyber-physical Systems Research Program (formerly Autonomous Systems Lab) of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO). I conduct research in legged robot locomotion and acoustic perception for mobile robots. Previously, I conducted research in embedded sensor networks, focusing on using acoustic sensor networks for biodiversity & ecological monitoring as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the CSIRO and conducted research in underwater robotics as a PhD candidate at The Australian National University (ANU). While at the ANU, I was a team member of the Serafina project which developed swarming technology for autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs).
I am an Adjunct Fellow at the School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering at the University of Queensland (UQ) where I supervise students and teach a course on Advanced Embedded Systems. I am also a Visiting Fellow at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) where I supervise final year Engineering student projects and co-supervise PhD students.
I am a Senior Member of the IEEE and currently the Vice-Chair of the IEEE Queensland joint Chapter for Control Systems and Robotics and Automation Societies.
